The belt consists of 28 fittings of three different types, 1 buckle, and 1 belt end, consistent with the original. The fittings are cast from brass. The belt itself is made from impregnated, vegetable-tanned cowhide leather.

This complete belt is a reconstruction based on a find from the Eshkakon rock burial ground in the North Caucasus, dating to the 9th century, from the Khazar Khaganate period. The reconstruction is based on the first excavations from 1974, retaining the original number of fittings.

Materials and Components

The belt consists of 28 fittings of three different types, 1 buckle, and 1 belt end, consistent with the original. The fittings are cast from brass. The belt itself is made from impregnated, vegetable-tanned cowhide leather.

The belt's width, consistent with the find, is $1.7 - 1.8$ cm.
