Belt Bag from Gulbische mound
This hand-sewn pouch is based on surviving fittings discovered in the Gulbishche burial mound in Kievan Rus. Due to the incomplete nature of the find, the leather section and fastening system have been faithfully recreated based on similar, preserved examples of bags from the era, including those from Uyelgi, Kyiv, and the Rusenikhinsky mound.
The pouch is handmade from natural, vegetable-tanned, soft cowhide leather and is waxed. It is adorned with a set of cast brass fittings. An optional linen or silk lining is also available, which is also supported by historical sources. Its dimensions have been chosen to maintain historical accuracy.

Gulbische Belt Bag – 10th Century
This hand-sewn pouch is based on surviving fittings discovered in the Gulbishche burial mound in Kievan Rus. Due to the incomplete nature of the find, the leather section and fastening system have been faithfully recreated based on similar, preserved examples of bags from the era, including those from Uyelgi, Kyiv, and the Rusenikhinsky mound.
When examining historical sources, we come across many artifacts, including very well-preserved examples where the leather part of the bag also survived. Thanks to the abundance of archaeological and iconographic material, we are able to faithfully reproduce these items.
